In 1978 a new business named Eco Medical Equipment opened it's doors in Edmonton's west end. It's goal was to serve the specialized needs of persons with physical disabilities. The company offered quality products, competitive pricing, and the kind of friendly customer service you would come to expect that keeps customers coming back.

Today, Eco Medical is still owned and operated by it's original owners who continue to provide exceptional service to their growing clientele.

We are totally committed to supplying our clients with the best equipment available, says Gordon Hollman, one of the founding owners. We continually search the marketplace so as to maintain our leading edge in this industry. Above all, we recognize the importance of having a knowledgeable frontline staff to tend to our customers product needs, and service requirements.

It's no wonder that Eco Medical outgrew it's original location. In October of 1995, the company moved into it's new and larger facility. Completely wheelchair accessible with a large parking lot, the new building also offers a 4000 sq. ft. showroom.

Product lines include a complete list of durable medical equipment. Eco Medical Equipment sells, rents and services, electric and manual wheelchairs, electric scooters, walkers, floor and ceiling mounted patient lifters, home safety equipment, home accessibility needs, vehicle driving aids, adjustable electric beds, lift out armchairs, swimming pool lifts, Stairlifts, Elevators and specialized vans.

We have worked hard at keeping Eco Medical in the forefront of promoting Canadian produced medical equipment, adds Hollman. We are expanding our operation in the direction of the accessibility and mobility products. This includes equipment requirements for both the home and public markets. For instance, we now have available specialized lowered floor minivans for use by those in wheelchairs.

Eco Medical Equipment and it's division, Eco Lift Systems, are keeping an eye on new developments that will make accessibility and mobility easier than ever for their clientele.
